Resetting the customer account password

1. Go to “Customers” in the Shopify dashboard

The first step is to go to the “Customers” section of your Shopify admin. Here, you can see a list of all the customers who have purchased from your store. Below are the specific steps to access your customers’ section in Shopify: 

  1. Log in to Shopify
  2. Click on “Customers” from the left-hand menu

2. Click on the customer you want to reset the password for

Once you’re in the “Customers” section, follow these steps:

  1. Search for the customer whose password you want to reset
  2. Click on that customer’s name to visit their customer profile page

3. Click “Reset password”

On the customer profile page, follow these steps:

  1. Look for the “Reset password” button in the top-right & click it. This sometimes may show as a “More actions” button, which you can find it inside there.

Now the customer will receive an email with a link to create a new password for their account.

Note: If you have trouble finding the “Reset password” option, it’s possible that the customer has not yet set up an account with your store. In this case, you can direct them to create an account using the email address that they used when they made their purchase. This will automatically link their orders that were ordered using that email address.

Once they create an account, it will automatically be connected to their orders, and they’ll be able to set a password themselves. 

Once the customer has followed the link in their email and chosen a new password, their account will be successfully reset!
